National Yacht Club
A Sail Canada certified liveaboard week in the Bahamas, on a monohull or catamaran, at exclusive National Yacht Club member pricing.
Many members have the sea time but not the credential. This is the fastest, most enjoyable way to earn it: a real cruising week in some of the most beautiful waters on earth.
Sail Canada Intermediate Cruising is the bareboat skipper standard charter fleets look for. Earn it and you can skipper your own flotilla trips.
A full week aboard, Saturday to Saturday, sailing every leg with a Sail Canada instructor and never more than three other students. Small groups, lots of helm time.
Thunderball Grotto, quiet cays, and warm, clear water. You come home certified and refreshed.
Earn Basic and Intermediate Cruising in a single week, or add the catamaran endorsement. New to sailing or building on years of experience, we meet you where you are.
The foundation of cruising: sail trim, points of sail, helming, docking, and anchoring.
The bareboat skipper course. How to take command of an unfamiliar boat in unfamiliar waters, the way you would on a chartered vessel.
Earn the same Basic and Intermediate Cruising standards on the catamaran, plus the Sail Canada Catamaran Endorsement. Most charter fleets are catamaran heavy, so it widens where you can charter.
Signing up gives you access to our learning hubs, so you can prepare at your own pace and keep the material for good, not just for the week.
Basic, Intermediate, and Advanced Cruising hubs with everything you need to reach the level, on your schedule.
Video lectures on every topic covered on the exam, so the week can focus on hands-on sailing.
The Student Cruising Notes: ranges and ETAs, chart work, provisioning, first aid, and vessel systems.
Interactive tools we build in house, like a full 3D anchoring simulator. Try the anchoring sim →
Short quizzes and practice built into the books and the portal to check your understanding before you sail.
We connect before the trip to plan meals and answer questions, so you step aboard ready to go.
Learn aboard our own monohull, or the catamaran from our charter partner, Amihan Charters. Both sail the same itinerary through the Exuma Cays.
A typical week sails from Nassau south through the Exumas and back, anchoring every night. The route is weather dependent and adjusted for conditions.
Cross to the northern Exumas, snorkel a sunken plane wreck.
Island hike and coral garden in the Exuma Land and Sea Park.
Snorkel the aquarium and swim off a sandbar.
Thunderball Grotto and a walk through the settlement.
Mangrove estuary tour and beach afternoon.
Sail north and anchor near Nassau for the final evening.
The last sail back into Nassau and return to port.
Pack up, log signed, certification complete, and farewell.
One all-inclusive price covers the boat, your cabin, all meals aboard, instruction, your certification, and every fee. Your flights and airport transfers are the only extras.
Every member gets our complete base guide, a step-by-step walkthrough of the whole trip, so nothing is left to guesswork.
Sail Canada certified instructors with a combined lifetime on the water across the Great Lakes, the US coast, and the Caribbean.
