Who We Are

Happy Sailing Academy

Sail Canada certified cruising school — liveaboard education in two of the best sailing grounds in the Americas.

Golden hour on the foredeck

Based in Prince Edward County (PEC) — the heart of eastern Lake Ontario's cruising waters. Our students learn through multi-day liveaboard passages: island hopping, sheltered coves, and waterfront villages.

We also run courses in The Exumas, Bahamas — giving students the option to learn in the Caribbean at a fraction of the usual cost. Every course is capped at 4 students for truly hands-on instruction, from Basic Cruising all the way through Advanced.

The Opportunity

Expanding Your Educational Offering

Most clubs offer strong beginner programs — but intermediate cruising education remains underserved across Lake Ontario.

The Gap

Intermediate Education

A partnership with Happy Sailing adds variety and depth to your educational offering — filling a gap that's difficult to deliver in-house.

The Conversation

Your Members' Goals

We'd love to understand your membership goals, what you're hearing from members, and where they want to grow. This presentation is a starting point — we want to build something that fits your club's specific needs.

The Destination

Eastern Lake Ontario

Condé Nast Traveler named PEC a top destination in North America for 2026 — and featured Happy Sailing in the article. Variable conditions, island hopping, sheltered coves, and charming waterfront villages.

Partnership Model

Your Satellite Cruising School in PEC

Happy Sailing operates as an extension of your club's educational program, serving as your satellite campus in Prince Edward County.

  • No operational burden, no facilities required from the club

Member Benefits

What Your Members Gain

Real skills, recognized credentials, and experiences that keep members engaged with the club for years.

01

Cruising Confidence

Members develop skills to plan and execute multi-day passages — independently chartering, cruising Lake Ontario, or joining club events.

02

A Destination Experience

Prince Edward County is a sailing destination in itself — islands, variable conditions, sheltered coves, and waterfront villages. Education and vacation in one trip.

03

Internationally Recognized

Sail Canada credentials are recognized worldwide. Your members can charter in the Caribbean, the Mediterranean via ICC equivalency, and beyond.

04

Club-Endorsed Program

Members get access to a vetted, club-endorsed cruising school — the confidence of knowing the program has been reviewed and recommended by their own club.

05

Affordable Alternative

Liveaboard cruising education at a fraction of Caribbean course costs. Same quality training without the international travel expense.

06

Ongoing Progression

From Basic to Intermediate to Advanced Cruising, plus mileage builders and ongoing support — a complete development pathway for every member.

Growth Strategy

How This Partnership Grows Your Club

A sailing partnership that strengthens every dimension of your club — from recruitment to retention.

01

02

03

Engage

Members who learn to cruise together form deeper connections with the club. Shared multi-day experiences create lasting bonds.
